MHD-MODEL OF QUASI-PERIODIC SOLAR CORONAL PULSATIONS

Abstract

We study quasi-periodic pulsations observed in the solar corona by the microwave and hard X-ray emission. One of its interpretation is oscillations of flare coronal magnetic flux tubes. Its properties are studied well in the approximation of the linear magne-tohydrodynamics. Now we study the fast magnetoacoustic waves in the weakly-nonlinear approximation. Previously this study has been carried out in plane geometry, here we investigate weakly nonlinear waves in cylindrical geometry. A mathematical model of a non-linear evolution of the wave envelope is considered, it is based on the nonlinear Schrddinger equation. This model is used to study the modula-tional instability of fast magnetoacoustic waves and the generation of quasi-periodic oscillations of flare coronal loops.
