Геннадий Иванович Касьянов известен в России и других странах главным образом как научный руководитель единственной в мире научной школы «Обработка сельскохозяйственного сырья сжиженными и сжатыми газами», рождение которой состоялось в далекие 70-тые годы прошлого века. Основателями этой школы были его учителя: канд. техн. наук Пехов Александр Васильевич, доктор техн. наук Леончик Борис Иосифович, доктор биолог. наук Середин Разумник Михайлович, заложившие в молодом ученом искорку познания, которая возгорелась мощным пламенем. Деятельность этой научной школы продолжается и сегодня, но на новом, более высоком, современном уровне. Жизнь и деятельность Г. И. Касьянова - яркий пример для подражания, особенно для молодого поколения России.
